The Amount of Misinformation about CBD is ASTOUNDING! Gives Pause to the Real “Stuff”.

Cbd Drops and Plant
********************************

Over the past few years, CBD has taken the world by storm. Daily, I see claims that CBD “cures” a myriad of ills.

As a holistic nurse practitioner and certified herbalist for more than 30 years, those exaggerated claims “push my buttons”, for a variety of reasons.

Using CBD Oil Drops

CBD Advertising, How Cannabis Legalization Has a Roadmap to Follow

It’s not every day that a product manages to grasp the attention of a global consumer market within such a short space of time.

However, cannabidiol – or “CBD” as most people call it – has contributed to a surge of enthusiasm in the medical market.

Perhaps one of the most frequently discussed cannabinoids, CBD controls an industry of its own and is on-track to harvest a generous $16.32 billion in the United States by 2026.

CBD Advertising, How Cannabis Legalization Has a Roadmap to Follow

Demand for effective CBD marketing is on the rise and there is no wonder why. So far, scientists have successfully isolated 113 of the leafy green plant’s active chemical compounds.

Formerly, the cannabis community firmly focused its attention on the plant’s psychoactive constituent TH-Cbd (tetrahydro-cannabinol) — but now, thanks to a swelling smorgasbord of scientific evidence pointing to the therapeutic potential of cannabis and hemp’s non-psychoactive chemical compound CBD, the market is constantly evolving.

CBD is enticing a diverse group of consumers from all ages — and even pets.

(((The Green Rush (2012–present) is an ongoing global economic event that began on December 6, 2012, when cannabis was legalized in the US state of Washington; Colorado‘s legalization took effect four days later.[1][2] While still illegal federally in the United States,[3] the actions of these two state governments signaled the opening of a market projected to be worth US$48+ billion globally by 2027.[4] As of 2019 the cannabis industry had created over 250,000 jobs.[5] However, cannabis companies have been a mixed investment success, with many experiencing plunging stock prices, massive layoffs, and failure to meet investor expectations.[6])))

If you are cashing in on the “Green Rush”

Mand are wondering how to market CBD products effectively and legally, then you will need to use an effective strategy.

Before you kick-start an online business selling CBD oil and alternative products, understand the rules behind marketing CBD oil so you can align your business with statewide laws.

What is CBD?

CBD Molecule
CANNABIDIOL

A substance that does not induce feelings of psychoactivity, cannabidiol, or “CBD” as it is most commonly known, can be extracted from either the hemp or marijuana plants.

The vast majority of products featured in CBD advertising strategies will be extracted from industrial hemp.

CBD falls into two main product segments: food grade, and therapeutic grade.

Based on a reports, therapeutic grade CBD constitutes the vast majority of market share, with this segment accounting for 59.90% of the market in 2018.

A Running History of CBD’s Legal Status As more people start to learn about CBD’s non-psychoactive properties and discover that it could actually present consumers of all ages with an opportunity to amplify their health/wellness routines, minus the high, the Internet is becoming suffused with cannabinoid-rich content.

Before you start creating content for your CBD marketing campaign, take into account the following facts about CBD’s legal status:

How will CBD fit into OUR Growing Needs

1. Recently, legalization has swept across much of the U.S.

Up until a few years ago, marijuana and hemp were illegal across the entire United States on both the federal and state levels.

However, public and political perception of marijuana is most certainly evolving. Thanks to a number of ballot and voter-approved initiatives, marijuana has been legalized in some form in a total of 33 U.S. states and the District of Columbia.

However, it is still federally illegal. While some states have legalized marijuana merely for medical purposes, others have gone as far as to legalize it on a recreational scale.

Soaring demand for cannabis-containing products is putting pressure on businesses to properly navigate the complex patchwork of regulations associated with the nascent industry.

2. 2019: Farm Bill and FDA hearings.

In December of last year, President Donald Trump signed the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (2018 Farm Bill, PL 115-334) (the “2018 Farm Bill”) into effect, which removed hemp from the Controlled Substances Act and maintains FDA’s authority to regulate certain hemp-containing products.

Despite the fact that commercial hemp cultivation was legalized throughout the U.S. following the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill, there has been much confusion regarding whether or not hemp-derived CBD products can legally be marketed and sold.

The FDA must treat hemp-derived CBD-containing products just like any other regulated product. However the agency has vowed to explore various regulatory pathways that will safeguard the health of patients and the general public.

3. Is CBD legal now?

Pay attention to reputable sources that publish the most recent updates regarding the legality of CBD in the U.S., such as this one. Obtain advice from an attorney. The cannabinoid’s legal status is dependent not only on federal law but also on the state in which you reside.

Why CBD Marketing is So Important

The CBD marketing craze is well and truly upon us. Everywhere you look online, whether it is in the form of a CBD-focused advert that grasps your attention on Facebook, a search engine optimized CBD advertising campaign that points to an online store via Google, or a captivating Instagram story with a ‘Swipe-up’ link directing visitors to a website, the surge in CBD marketing is hard to ignore.

1. Finding new customers.

According to a study conducted by High Yield Insights, approximately 40% of U.S. consumers aged 21 and above claim that they would consider trying CBD. This figure will grow and so, finding customers by tapping into the power of CBD marketing is essential. Customers want your help and so, you need to be the one to give it to them!

2. Differentiating your brand.

The CBD space is well and truly bursting at the seams, with more companies being established on a daily basis. This does not mean that you should give up on your dreams of earning money with CBD marketing but rather, learn how to stand out and differentiate your brand from the rest.

This is possible by providing your audience with constant education. Engage with your audience by creating compelling video content, carry out industry surveys and don’t be afraid to show consumers how they can benefit from your services. You might also consider focusing on a particular niche.

3. Retaining customers.

CBD marketing can help you attract recurring customers. Affiliate marketing is a great way of building high retention rates, but only the big brands tend to attract affiliates, proving the importance of building brand awareness. Featuring legitimate customer testimonials on your website that make statements in compliance with all laws will boost your reputation and keep customers returning for more. Send out newsletters, offer discounts for recurring customers and encourage them to invite a friend in return for a free product if you want to achieve better overall engagement and increase the likelihood of customers returning.

Conducting surveys will make you aware of customer needs/wants and will alert you about areas where you might be failing to satisfy customers. You may also want to focus on problem-solving, providing ongoing support and of course, staying in touch with your customer base!

What Can’t You Say With CBD Advertising?

While it might be tempting to boast about CBD’s medicinal properties to the whole world via online CBD marketing, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not approve of this. Avoid the following to sidestep potential repercussions.

1. Health and Medical claims. You might have read claims online hailing CBD as a miracle cannabinoid that can be used to combat a wide scope of medical conditions, diseases and ailments, such as epilepsy, cancer, arthritis, insomnia and chronic pain. It is imperative that you hold off on making any health or medical claims.

The FDA certainly does not approve of this and will take your marketing campaign offline before you can say “CBD!”. “Deceptive marketing of unproven treatments raises significant public health concerns, as it may keep some patients from accessing appropriate, recognized therapies to treat serious and even fatal diseases,” reads an official statement from the former commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Scott Gottlieb, M.D.

2. Untested assumptions. Although it is possible to spotlight the potential medical benefits of integrating CBD into a daily health and wellness routine, it is not possible to legally advise customers about treating their specific medical condition, disease or ailment with CBD.

Only a doctor can do this, so don’t make the mistake of assuming that just because you read it somewhere, it is true. Every single thing you say (including consumer reviews, testimonials, social media posts, marketing, and claims made on any forum where the consumer may see the product) when trying to lure in buyers with an online CBD marketing campaign must be backed up by reputable sources and cited where/when necessary. Claims must always be substantiated, credible and authentic and avoid making disease or health claims. Anything that cannot be proven simply cannot be used in your marketing material, so just remember this.

3. Anything that has not been approved by the FDA. According to the FDA, all CBD products must comply with the applicable laws, including the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act). The FDA has taken the position that it is not lawful to add CBD to food, dietary supplements, and pet foods. This rule applies, even if the product is defined as containing the hemp plant. Because of this, you must practice caution when conducting CBD marketing efforts. For example, cannabinoids cannot currently be sold as dietary supplements, nor can they be added to FDA-approved ingredients and sold legally.

CBD Advertising Restrictions in 2019 Despite being legalized following President Donald Trump’s signing of the 2018 Farm Bill in December 2018, advertising options are currently limited. The 2018 Farm Bill removed hemp from the Controlled Substances Act and was integrated into the 2018 United States Farm Bill, which was effectuated in December 2018. When the federal government changes its stance on marijuana, likely so too will the rules for CBD r creation. Unfortunately for ‘cannapreneurs’, Google and Facebook – two of the world’s dominating ad-buying platforms – have not yet permitted advertising for marijuana-derived CBD, but hemp-derived CBD products are now being considered. Make yourself aware of the following CBD advertising restrictions in 2019 to avoid potential pitfalls:

1. Facebook. You cannot advertise cannabis-derived CBD on Facebook. Then again, if your focus is primarily the hemp-derived product, you’re in luck. As of June 26, 2019, Facebook announced it would be lifting its ban on CBD products, meaning that advertisers can now publish ads promoting topical hemp products via the social networking platform.

The great thing about this is that advertisers have the privilege of including a direct link to a landing page, from which consumers can promote products and link directly to their website. However, this is subject to change and may not last forever; Facebook has always forbidden CBD ads due to the cannabis plant’s illegal status and previously, CBD-focused ads were blocked outright.

2. Google Ads (Adwords). If you decide to run a Google AdWords advertisement promoting CBD products, you run the risk of your ad being taken down and will possibly be penalized from publishing future advertisements, even if they are not CBD marketing ads.

On a more positive note, Google recently asked a number of companies in the CBD space to participate in a trial run for CBD advertising on its platform. The results are yet to be revealed.

3. Twitter. Unfortunately for CBD marketers, you won’t be able to run ads on Twitter. Why, you ask?

Because Twitter does not permit advertising for illicit substances, not to mention herbal drugs, thus eliminating CBD completely. This is not to say that you have to stop using Twitter for marketing efforts however, since this platform’s advertisement policy is only applicable for products that are being promoted by means of paid advertising. Examples of some effective ways in which you can reap the rewards of Twitter include posting information about new products and linking back to your website, publishing informative and relevant information that will be well-received by the cannabis community, as well as building brand awareness with frequent posting and engagement. Refrain from making any health or disease claims about CBD, because this could cost you your account and possible FDA enforcement.

4. Instagram. The policies put into place by Instagram regarding CBD advertising are fairly similar to the rules laid out by Twitter. However, Instagram users are not penalized as often as Twitter users when advertising CBD oil and related products, since Instagram does not seem to monitor CBD marketing quite as much as Twitter does. Nonetheless, you shouldn’t put all your eggs in one basket with Instagram; the app can permanently shut down your account if you try to specifically sell a product. Instead, focus on educating your audience by linking back to your blog or resharing content from other CBD-focused Instagram pages. Stay on top of your Instagram game by posting exciting and relevant images that reflect your CBD marketing campaign and brand. You can also use Instagram to publish videos. What’s more, the social media platform enables users with a business profile to include direct web links via the ‘Story’ feature, as well as on their profile bio.

The Key to Marketing a CBD Company: Brand CBD might just be a cannabinoid, but it’s not just any old cannabinoid.

This unique naturally-occurring chemical compound has victoriously leaped over hurdles that skeptics once thought were impossible to overcome. It has successfully broken through barriers and filtered its way into the mainstream market, where branding is critical for staying afloat.

6 Strategies to Market CBD Online Estimated retail sales of CBD consumer products could reach $16 billion by the year 2025. This is according to industry analysts from Cowen Research. Tapping into this consumer market requires a great deal of diligence, consistency and patience. By marketing hemp-derived CBD effectively with the following methods, you can master the art of learning how to sell CBD online.

1. Focus on SEO. Perhaps one of the most organic ways to build your brand on the Internet is by paying close attention to search engine optimization, better known as SEO. Although this method can be somewhat difficult to execute, the cost is usually a lot lower than it is for alternative methods of advertising. Hiring an SEO expert to help is often the best way to ensure your money and time are well spent. Additionally, you need not fret about breaking the CBD marketing rules. However, please be aware SEO “keywords” will be considered as marketing and advertising materials if the FDA is investigating any health or disease claims. Practicing proper SEO will ensure that you are seen as a trusted thought leader in the nascent industry and will enable web visitors to find your site based on what they are searching online.

2. Grow content. Content creation can fit in seamlessly with your SEO plan, due to the fact that SEO focuses on the implementation of suitable high-volume keywords and phrases throughout blog posts, articles, product descriptions and web content. Get in the habit of sharing your content on social media platforms and watch the traffic grow! Carefully curated content will bolster your credibility as an authoritative and influential leader in the CBD industry.

3. Attend trade shows. Word of mouth marketing has always been (and continues to be) one of the most powerful forms of marketing.

Consider attending industry trade shows for an opportunity to meet with other industry players face-to-face, as well as to assess the competition. Not only this, but at trade shows like the CBD Expo Tour, you can also demonstrate what your brand has to offer and get people on your side. By doing so, there’s a possibility of attracting a new audience and potentially, investment for your CBD advertising strategy.

4. Build an affiliate network. Affiliate marketers are valuable people who can help to inform the world about your product, without you having to lift a finger.

According to industry data, affiliate marketing expenditure will inflate by 10% over the next few years. Worth a whopping $12 billion, affiliate marketing accounts for 15% of all digital media revenue and back in 2017, web users clicked on affiliate marketing links over five billion times!

If that wasn’t enough to blow your mind, consider the fact that global affiliate marketing transactions surpassed $170 million during the same year! Some trusted affiliate networks include ShareASale, CannAffiliate and Clickbank.

Adrian PetersAdrian Peterson

5. Use influencer marketing. Aim to include as many marketing tactics in your CBD campaign as possible.

The more diverse your marketing campaign, the better the chance of attracting your target market and turning over a rather healthy profit from CBD marketing.

Influencer marketing is a fantastic way of doing this and it is one of the fastest-growing segments in the marketing world today, with 17% of companies claiming to spend more than half of their marketing budget on influencers.

This year, 65% of influencer marketing budgets are predicted to inflate. Of course, an influencer that is compensated in any way must follow FTC guidelines and conspicuously disclose their connection to the brand being promoted.

6. Utilize email marketing. Another marketing method that should not be ignored is email marketing. Although this is one of the oldest forms of online marketing, it maintains its efficacy at attracting customers from all corners and all walks of life. Sending coupons and deals to your existing newsletter subscribers/customers is a fantastic way to get the word out about products and improve customer relationships and retention.

Keep Your Eyes and Ears Open

The nascent CBD industry may present you, the marketer, with some challenges; regulators are still smoothing things out. Nonetheless, the results can be incredibly rewarding if you learn to stay abreast of federal, state, and local laws pertaining to hemp-derived CBD marketing and selling CBD-containing products online. Focus on the following:

1. CBD legal changes. It’s no secret that cannabis consumption is becoming normalized. More than 94 million people in the U.S. have admitted to using it at least once and with legislation spreading like wildfire, this figure is increasing by the day. Nonetheless, hemp-derived CBD marketing poses some challenges due to market volatility. Often, this is triggered by the hazy status surrounding CBD legality. Local, state and federal laws are shifting constantly, so stay alert.

2. Advertising restrictions. The information contained in this article is accurate at the time of writing. Ho is subject to change, depending on whether or not advertisers decide to amend their rules in the foreseeable future.

3. Cannabis news. Remember to pay close attention to any news about the cannabis space, both marijuana and hemp, since there’s a good chance it will have an impact on CBD. Some of the best cannabis news resources include: High Times, Canna Law Blog, and Marijuana Business Daily. Subscribe to RSS feeds and email newsletters – just as a customer would do on your website/blog/online store, once it is up and running – so as to ensure you never miss a trick.

What Advertisers Need To Do Next

For newbie marketers who want to capitalize on the profit potential associated with the CBD market, there are certain steps worth taking to get one step ahead of the competition. Some of the best CBD oil marketing strategies include:

1. Keyword research. Before a customer lands on the homepage for your online CBD store, they will have typed a keyword or query relating to the product they want into a search engine like Google. Be the website that Google ranks on the first page by conducting proper keyword research! You can integrate keywords into titles, meta tags, picture descriptions, video descriptions and more.

2. Search Engine Optimization (SEO). With your chosen keywords and phrases, integrate them into an SEO-optimized site that is targeted to your niche market. Submit your website to directories, create meta tags and always include strategically-placed search phrases on pages for the maximum return on your SEO-optimized CBD marketing strategy.

3. Content marketing. Whether you decide to outsource your content marketing to an expert in the industry – this is a highly recommended time-saving strategy that ensures quality content and rules out plagiarism – or write the content yourself, you should not ignore the potential of curating keyword-friendly, informative content that keeps people returning for more.

4. Link building. The link-building marketing technique never gets old. Guest posting on authority sites in return for a link back to your website will enable your site to climb higher on the search engine rankings. In addition to getting inbound links, don’t forget to create outbound links from your website/blog that point to authority sites in the cannabis and hemp markets if you want to attract extra traffic. Please note, linked content can be considered part of your advertising materials.

Linking to articles, scientific studies, and testimonials does not shield or remove you from the claims that are made on the linked content. Commercial use of scientific publications to promote the product’s sale, including simple references to scientific studies or general research, discussing potential health benefits may still be considered to be drug claims made about the product.

5. Analytics. There is nothing quite as motivating as monitoring your progress with a CBD marketing campaign and noticing that the results are improving as time progresses.

Various types of software can be utilized to view site analytics, including:

Optimizely, SEMrush, and Kissmetrics.

Attitudes about cannabis are changing on a global scale and by getting in at the ground floor now with CBD marketing, you can establish yourself as a well-respected brand before the market gets overly saturated. Feed your industry knowledge by reading the news on a daily basis.

This will enable you to make a mark on the industry at large, as well as establish trust and loyalty among your customer base.

Conclusion In spite of the fact that the major social networking platforms do not currently allow CBD advertising, there are ways to sidestep this predicament.

Combined, social media and content marketing provides the perfect opportunity for CBD marketers to educate their audience and build brand awareness, without using aggressive selling techniques that could get your account banned.

For the best chance of success at making money from the “Green Rush”, perform adequate research prior to launching a CBD marketing campaign to better understand the limitations associated with the CBD industry, federally, in each state, and online.

Ahead of your brand launch, make sure all claims you make are authentic, substantiated and are accompanied by credible scientific support.

Thank you for consideration.

CBD vs OTC vs RxX

Renovation of the American Dream - Inspirational Technologies

What I have in one hand acts as an anti-inflammatory. 💊🔥 What I have in the other hand has many anti-inflammatory 🌿🔥properties. What I have in one hand is a drug. 💊 What I have in the other hand is a natural remedy.🌿

And I bet the vast majority of you have already guessed the drug in my hand. And if you guessed Ibuprofen?

Ding Ding we have a winner!

I was actually prescribed to take ibuprofen even after mostly recovered from my tendinitis around 6 weeks ago.

But considering I’m the type of person, who considers pharmaceutical drugs as a last resort, I opted out instead for the natural remedy instead.

Now don’t get me wrong, Ibuprofen is an effective drug that does exactly what its intended to do. And it definitely helps when you’re looking for a quick relief from pain. But of course like any pharmaceutical drug it comes with its own list of possible side effects such as but not limited to:

Heartburn🔥❤️ Nausea🤢 Vomiting🤮 Gas😨 Constipation😫 Diarrhea😬 Leaky gut/stomach ulcers👎👎 Most of these side effects can be avoided by taking it with food. But the consequences of either taking too much or too often can be much worse. I spoke with a person at my doctors, who said because of a bleeding disorder, they could not take blood thinner medications. What can People Do?

Which is why I opted out for the more natural remedy of

full-spectrum 🌿CBD oil🌿 for my own personal rehabilitation.

It’s been doing the job for me without the possible risk of any unfavorable side effects. (Of course, consult you General Practitioner.)

I’ve always been a huge advocate for the more natural side of medicine as I never wanted to rely on over the counter drugs to treat any ailment I had.

So if you happen to rely fairly often on over the counter drugs to help with pain, perhaps it might be a good time to give the alternative a try! 😁

Thank you for consideration.

Research on CBD for Fibromyalgia

Research on CBD for fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain disorder that causes musculoskeletal pain in addition to:

It mostly affects women, and currently there’s no known cure for the condition. However, treatment options are available that focus on pain management.

CBD has been used to ease chronic pain symptoms and reduce inflammation. It’s presented as an alternative to taking opioid prescriptions which can be addictive.

However, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) hasn’t approved CBD as a treatment option for fibromyalgia or most other conditions. The CBD-based prescription drug Epidiolex, an epilepsy treatment, is the only CBD product that’s FDA-approved and regulated.Happy St. Patty’s Day – Go Green! Better clothing, better food, better gadgets. Is there anything Hemp can’t do?

There are currently no published studies on fibromyalgia that look at the effects of CBD on its own. However, some research does look at the effects of cannabis, which may contain multiple cannabinoids, on fibromyalgia.

The results have been mixed. More human studies are needed.

Earlier studies

2009 reviewTrusted Source found that CBD can be used to relieve neuropathic pain. The researchers concluded that cannabinoids such as CBD might be a useful adjunct to other pain medications.

2011 study looked at 56 people with fibromyalgia. Most of the participants were women.

Members of the study comprised two groups:

  • One group was comprised of 28 study participants who weren’t cannabis users.
  • The second group was comprised of 28 study participants who were cannabis users. The frequency of their cannabis use, or the amount of cannabis they used, varied.

Two hours after using cannabis, the cannabis users experienced benefits such as:

  • reduced pain and stiffness
  • an increase in sleepiness

They also had slightly higher mental health scores than the non-users.

2019 Dutch study

2019 Dutch study looked at the effect of cannabis on 20 women with fibromyalgia. Over the course of the study, each participant received four types of cannabis:

  • an unspecified amount of a placebo variety, which contained no CBD or THC
  • 200 milligrams (mg) of a variety with high amounts of both CBD and THC (Bediol)
  • 200 mg of a variety with high amounts of CBD and low amounts of THC (Bedrolite)
  • 100 mg of a variety with low amounts of CBD and high amounts of THC (Bedrocan)

The researchers found that the spontaneous pain scores of people using the placebo variety were similar to the spontaneous pain scores of people using some of the non-placebo varieties.

However, Bediol, which is high in CBD and THC, brought relief to a greater number of people than the placebo did. It caused a 30 percent reduction of spontaneous pain in 18 of the 20 participants. The placebo caused a 30 percent reduction of spontaneous pain in 11 participants.

Use of Bediol or Bedrocan, both high-THC varieties, significantly improved pressure pain thresholds when compared to the placebo.

Bedrolite, which is high in CBD and low in THC, didn’t show any evidence of being able to relieve spontaneous or evoked pain.

2019 Israeli study

In a 2019 Israeli study, hundreds of people with fibromyalgia were observed over a period of at least 6 months. Of the participants, 82 percent were women.

The study participants received guidance from nurses before taking medical cannabis. The nurses provided advice on:

All the participants started with a low dosage of cannabis, and dosages were increased gradually over the course of the study. The median approved dosage of cannabis started at 670 mg a day.

At 6 months, the median approved dosage of cannabis was 1,000 mg a day. The median approved dosage of THC was 140 mg, and the median approved dosage of CBD was 39 mg a day.

The researchers admitted that the study had limitations. For instance, they were only able to follow up with about 70 percent of participants. The use of so many different strains also made it difficult to compare the effects of CBD-rich and THC-rich strains.

However, they still concluded that medical cannabis was a safe and effective treatment for fibromyalgia.

At the beginning of the study, 52.5 percent of participants, or 193 people, described their pain level as high. At the 6-month follow-up, only 7.9 percent of those who responded, or 19 people, reported high levels of pain.

CBD treatment options

If you want to avoid the psychoactive effects of marijuana, you can find CBD products that contain only trace amounts of THC. If you live in a place where recreational or medical marijuana is legal, you can find CBD products that contain higher concentrations of THC.

Although they each have benefits separately, CBD and TCH likely work best when combined. Experts refer to this synergy, or interaction, as the “entourage effect.”

CBD also acts against THC-targeted receptors to reduce the negative effects of marijuana, such as paranoia and anxiety.

You can consume CBD in a number of ways, including:

  • Smoking or vaping. If you want to relieve immediate pain, smoking CBD-rich cannabis is the quickest way to reduce symptoms. Effects can last up to 3 hours. Smoking or vaping allows you to directly inhale CBD from the cannabis plant, absorbing the chemical into your bloodstream and lungs.
  • Edibles. Edibles are foods cooked with the cannabis plant, or cannabis-infused oil or butter. It’ll take longer to experience symptom relief, but the effects of edibles can last for up to 6 hours.
  • Oil extracts. Oils can be applied topically, taken orally, or dissolved under the tongue and absorbed in mouth tissues.
  • Topicals. CBD oils can be infused into topical creams or balms and applied directly to the skin. These CBD products can be an effective option for reducing inflammation and helping with external pain.

There may be respiratory risks to smoking or vaping marijuana. People with asthma or lung conditions shouldn’t use this method.

You should also follow dosage instructions carefully, especially with edibles, to avoid the negative side effects of taking too much.

Cannabidiol (CBD)-what we know and what we don’t

September 24, 2021

cannabidiol

Cannabidiol (CBD) is often covered in the media, and you may see it touted as an add-in booster to your post-workout smoothie or morning coffee. You can even buy a CBD-infused sports bra. But what exactly is CBD? And why is it so popular?

How is cannabidiol different from marijuana, cannabis and hemp?

CBD, or cannabidiol, is the second most prevalent active ingredient in cannabis (marijuana). While CBD is an essential component of medical marijuana, it is derived directly from the hemp plant, a cousin of marijuana, or manufactured in a laboratory. One of hundreds of components in marijuana, CBD does not cause a “high” by itself. According to a report from the World Health Organization, “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential…. To date, there is no evidence of public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD.”

Is cannabidiol legal?

CBD is readily obtainable in most parts of the United States, though its exact legal status has been in flux. All 50 states have laws legalizing CBD with varying degrees of restriction. In December 2015, the FDA eased the regulatory requirements to allow researchers to conduct CBD trials. In 2018, the Farm Bill made hemp legal in the United States, making it virtually impossible to keep CBD illegal – that would be like making oranges legal, but keeping orange juice illegal.

Protect yourself from the damage of chronic inflammation.

Science has proven that chronic, low-grade inflammation can turn into a silent killer that contributes to cardiovascular disease, cancer, type 2 diabetes and other conditions. Get simple tips to fight inflammation and stay healthy — from Harvard Medical School experts.

Thank you for consideration.

What is fibromyalgia?

Fibromyalgia is a long-term, or chronic, condition. It causes symptoms such as:

  • musculoskeletal pain, or pain in the muscles and bones
  • tenderness
  • general fatigue
  • sleep and cognitive disturbances

This condition can be hard to understand, even for healthcare professionals. Its symptoms mimic those of other conditions, and there are no tests to definitively confirm a diagnosis. As a result, fibromyalgia is often misdiagnosed.

In the past, some healthcare professionals even questioned whether fibromyalgia was real. Today, it’s much better understood.

Around 4 million adults in the United StatesTrusted Source, or around 2 percent, have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Most fibromyalgia cases are diagnosed in females. Most people get diagnosed in middle age, but fibromyalgia can also affect children.

Some of the stigmas that previously surrounded fibromyalgia have eased, but it can still be challenging to treat. Medications, therapy, and lifestyle changes can help you manage your symptoms and improve your quality of life.

You may also experience remission-type periods in which your pain and fatigue improve.

Happy Sativa Saturday, Indica, and Ruderalis HEMP? – Just What is Up?

As you dive deeper into the hemp world, you may encounter terms like cannabis strains, sativa, indica, or hybrid.

Image result for Indica Sativa Ruderalis Hemp. Size: 232 x 160. Source: hempwiki.com There’s a lot to know about this powerful plant, and we’re here to help educate you about the ins and outs of indica vs. sativa so you can make informed decisions about what you’re consuming on your wellness journey. The reason the different strains matter is because the indica vs. sativa effects vary due to the chemical makeup of those strains. We’ll go deeper into these differences in the section below. Are you curious about which strains are right for you? Continue reading to learn more. Some of the things we’ll touch on in this article are: Indica vs. sativa: What are they?

Indica effects Sativa effects What is cannabis ruderalis? Common Indica vs Sativa strains Choosing between Indica vs Sativa edibles. When most people think of indica vs. sativa, they think indica equals couch potato and sativa means energy. This isn’t always the case, especially as everyone’s body chemistry is different. Some indicas may be uplifting for some while some sativa strains may cause anxiety. There’s no “right way” to consume the different stains. It’s all about understanding the differences between the indica vs. sativa leaf so your approach to the plant is more well-rounded. You may be surprised to know that those terms don’t actually determine the effects, and are rooted in botany — the cannabinoid makeup and terpenes are what determine the effects of the strain. While this is true, the stereotypes about these different strains exist for a reason. If you’re ready to learn more about indica vs. sativa effects, keep reading. Indica vs. Sativa: What Are They? The terms indica and sativa are used to describe the different types of cannabis plant, along with cannabis ruderalis (which we’ll talk about a little later). The hemp plant is traditionally found in different parts of Europe and Central Asia. There were geographical barriers like the Himalayan Mountains that allowed for two different populations of the hemp plant to flourish — indica vs. sativa. When referring to indica vs. sativa leaf, people often mean the kinds that have a THC content above the federal legal limits. This is a narrow view of cannabis and hemp because products ranging from cannabidiol to any other hemp-derived product also comes from a specific strain. They often just get lumped into the category of “industrial hemp.” Indica vs. sativa is a way to help organize the thousands of different strains ranging from “Hindu Kush” to Maui Wowie. Now that you know a little about the origins of these types of hemp, let’s take a look at the indica effects, sativa effects, and their differences.

See the source image

Facts About Cannabis Ruderalis cannabis ruderalis plant leaf

1) There’s A Reason It’s Named Cannabis Ruderalis If Cannabis ruderalis (C. ruderalis, or just ruderalis for short) were an animal, we’d call it feral — as in, living in a wild state. For plants, however, feral doesn’t apply. Instead, botanists use the term ruderal. Ruderal refers to a plant growing on waste ground, among refuse, and in extreme environments found in colder, more elevated climates. Essentially, ruderal describes a weed that grows where it’s not wanted and in competition with cultivated plants. So it’s not the slang sense you’re used to, but the actual scientific definition of a pesky, unwanted plant. Cannabis ruderalis commonly grows near roadsides, on agricultural land that is fallow, or on other land that humans have disturbed and then left alone.

2) Grew Originally In Russia And Adjacent Areas Cannabis ruderalis predates pretty much all of the countries you’d recognize on a map — meaning it was there before man put name to place. Scientists agree, though, that ruderalis was common in what is now Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, and specifically Russia. In fact, ruderalis probably originated in Russia and then spread east, west, and south into countries such as: Mongolia China Pakistan Afghanistan Kyrgyzstan Uzbekistan Kazakhstan Ukraine Slovakia Romania And others In many of these areas, ruderalis continues to grow as a weed in competition with more domesticated cultivars such as corn, wheat, and oats. Cannabis ruderalis isn’t very common in the Western Hemisphere because, as we’ll discuss, it’s only got one or two specific uses. For that and other reasons, humans didn’t go to the trouble of planting ruderalis here in the states.

3) Related To Indicas And Sativas Botanists include ruderalis as a third type of marijuana along with its relatives Cannabis sativa and Cannabis indica. That said, scientists aren’t really sure if ruderalis is a sibling or a cousin of the more common — and more widely used — varieties. In fact, they’re not even sure whether it qualifies as a species in its own right or if it’s a descendant of one of the other two. Genetically, Cannabis ruderalis falls somewhere between the indica and sativa strains, but its effects are quite different. Indica strains produce a lethargic and lazy body high rather than a head high. Because of that, indica’s benefits mostly deal with relief of conditions such as: Anxiety Stress Body pain Migraines Spasms Seizures Depression Nausea Sativa strains, on the other hand, produce an energetic head high that makes users feel more alert, creative, happy, and serene. Sativa strains are also notorious for their ability to make you hungry. As you’ll see later on in this article, Cannabis ruderalis does none of that.

4) The Smallest Of The Cannabis Plants Cannabis ruderalis is the smallest of the cannabis plants. While sativa strains grow up to 20 feet tall and indica strains grow up to six feet tall, ruderalis grows between one and two-and-a-half feet tall. Botanists attribute this small height to the fact that ruderalis needs to thrive in harsh and varied conditions, such as areas with poor soil, no shade, and exposure to winds and pests. A small, sturdy plant is much better suited to this type of environment than a tall plant. Because of its small stature, ruderalis is often referred to as dwarf cannabis or bonsai cannabis. Ruderalis produces only a few branches that contain wide, fat-bladed leaves. Ironically, the stereotypical pot leaf that has become a symbol of cannabis culture most nearly resembles the Cannabis ruderalis leaf. It’s ironic because ruderalis doesn’t get you high like sativa and indica.

5) Doesn’t Depend On Light Exposure To Flower Marijuana plants outdoors One of the most unique and valuable traits of the Cannabis ruderalis plant is that it doesn’t depend on light exposure to flower. Of course, ruderalis needs light to grow — as all plants do — but this strain doesn’t depend on the ratio of light to dark hours (the photoperiod) to switch from vegetative growth to flowering growth. Instead, the switch depends on age (i.e., number of days). Scientists call this trait autoflowering. What that means for the average grower — or the person who stumbles upon ruderalis in the wild — is that autoflowering strains don’t require varying the amount of light the plant gets the way you do with photoperiodic strains. Just to clarify, photoperiod-dependent strains (or photoperiodic for short) are your classic indica, sativa, and hybrid strains with names even the newest of noobs is probably familiar with (like Blue Dream, Sour Diesel, and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies). These strains respond to changes in light (i.e., the length of exposure) to “know” when to produce flowers. To better explain, think about the summer and fall seasons. During the longest days of summer, an outdoor plant might get 15 hours or more of sunlight. After the summer solstice, the number of hours of daylight decreases. This is usually the “cue” for plants to begin flowering. It’s the basic growing cycle that farmers have been dealing with for 11,000 years and that you probably learned about in kindergarten (only without the big words like photoperiod-dependent). The autoflowering ruderalis strain will grow for a certain number of days and then flower regardless of the amount of light it gets (as long as it gets enough to thrive, of course).

6) Grows Fast Cannabis ruderalis grows very fast. The typical lifecycle of a ruderalis plant — from seed to flower — is as low as 10 weeks (though 12 to 14 weeks is more typical). Compare that to the much longer grow times of indica and sativa — anywhere from four to six months — and you can see why breeders value this little plant.

7) Contains Very Low THC Levels The question on most people’s minds when it comes to Cannabis ruderalis is, “How much THC does this baby have?” Unfortunately, the answer is very little. How much is very little? It helps to compare ruderalis to hemp. To qualify as hemp — which is basically just a foodstuff and an industrial product — the plant needs to contain less than 0.3% of the cannabinoid THC. Cannabis ruderalis, on the other hand, typically exhibits less than 3% THC. That small amount is not enough to produce anything akin to a body or head high like indica and sativa (which can get as high as 28 or 29%)

8) Contains Some CBD Cannabis ruderalis does contain a bit of CBD, so you can use it to experience some wonderful medicinal benefits. The beneficial effects of CBD are legion, and more are being discovered every day. Here are some things CBD can do: Promote bone growth Inhibit growth in cancer cells Kill or slow bacterial growth Reduce risk of artery blockage Treat psoriasis Prevent degeneration of nervous system Reduce blood sugar levels Aid sleep Reduce seizures and convulsions Suppress muscle spasms Relieve anxiety Lessen the severity of psychosis Reduce nausea and vomiting Stimulate appetite Reduce inflammation Decrease pain For many patients, achieving these benefits without the psychoactive effects normally associated with marijuana would be like the holy grail of medical treatment. That’s one of the reasons Cannabis ruderalis is still used by many breeders: because mixing its genes with indicas and sativas is an easy way to increase CBD count without also increasing THC count.

9) Cannabis Ruderalis Is Not The Same As Hemp A bud of cannabis ruderalis Earlier in the article, we touched on one of the main differences between Cannabis ruderalis and hemp — THC levels. But there are many more differences between Cannabis ruderalis and hemp. Hemp is a relative of the sativa and indica plants that get you high, but growers have bred it in such a way that it’s extremely low in THC (0.3%). That’s so low you won’t feel a trace of psychedelia no matter how much you take — that’s why it’s been grown legally for decades. Similarly, hemp contains very low levels of CBD (0.5 to 2.0%) and other cannabinoids, such as CBG and CBN. So why grow it? Because it’s great as a foodstuff and an industrial product. Check any health food shop, “big box” grocery store, or corner bodega and you’ll likely find hemp seeds in there somewhere. Hemp seeds are high in polyunsaturated fats (omega-3 and omega-6), vitamin E, potassium, magnesium, and vitamins B1 and B2. This makes them a healthy addition to any balanced diet. We love sprinkling them in soups, salads, and smoothies for a delicious and nutritious kick. But the benefits of hemp don’t stop with the seeds. Manufacturers use hemp in everything from shampoo to plastics to paint to rope and clothing. It’s a very versatile plant! Cannabis ruderalis, on the other hand, is not a nutritionally dense plant, nor can it be used as an industrial product like hemp. Cannabis ruderalis is really only good for its genetics and its growing properties.

10) Doesn’t Need Your Help One of the nice things about Cannabis ruderalis is that it doesn’t need a lot of help from humans. As we touched on at the beginning of this article, it’s basically a weed (in the botanical sense) that’s going to grow despite your best efforts to the contrary. It’s very much like a dandelion in that regard. Have you ever had to feed and water and care for the dandelions in your front yard? Heck no! Those suckers just grow wherever they want. In fact, they’ll grow despite what you, mother nature, and even weedkillers thrown at them. Cannabis ruderalis exhibits many of those same characteristics. In fact, that’s one of the things breeders love about the plant — it exhibits a more laissez-faire attitude than some other, more needy and hands-on, strains of cannabis. Cannabis ruderalis is hearty, resistant to disease, grows in a variety of climates, and isn’t overly picky about the soil in which it lives. Sure, it’s got very low cannabinoid content, but its growing properties are extremely desirable.

Will Cannabis Ruderalis Get You High? Unless you’re an absolute newb and you’ve spent your entire life avoiding stimulants and psychoactives of every kind (including coffee, tea, pop, and high fructose corn sugar), Cannabis ruderalis will not get you high.

That said, we recommend taking things slow. Don’t jump from “never done it before” directly into the deep end. Increase the THC content slowly so you’re familiar with the feelings and know how your body will handle the high. To help you in this regard, here’s an incremental guide to help you answer the question, “Will get me high?” If your cannabis product contains one percent THC or less, you won’t feel a thing (because, most likely, this is hemp). If your cannabis product contains one percent to five percent THC, and depending on your pot experience, you might start to feel something (Cannabis ruderalis falls in this category). If your cannabis product contains five percent to 10 percent THC, you’ll probably hear a shape or two. If your cannabis product contains 10 percent to 15 percent THC, you’ll be well on your way to your HIGH. If your cannabis product contains anything above 15 percent THC, kiss reality goodbye.

If your cannabis product is (made from) a CBD-dominant strain used for medicinal purposes, you will not get high. So, again, will Cannabis ruderalis get you high? It will not. You might feel some medicinal effects (as in relief from anxiety or a decrease in pain if you have either) thanks to the CBD, but the very low THC content won’t be enough to give you the high that you’ve heard all your canna-pals talking about. Talk to the budtenders at your local dispensary and they can recommend a product with just the right amount of THC to keep you from getting too high. Is Cannabis Ruderalis Legal? A blunt with cannabis ruderalis In order to be completely, 100% legal, Cannabis ruderalis would have to exhibit the same traits as hemp. Specifically, that means that, in the United States, it would have to contain less than 0.3% THC (0.2%-0.3% THC in Europe).

As we discussed, Cannabis ruderalis typically contains 3% THC, which puts it well above the legal threshold. But, again, is Cannabis ruderalis legal? The answer is a bit confusing. Cannabis Ruderalis Is Not Legal At The Federal Level At the beginning of 2021, all cannabis is illegal according to the federal government. Currently, the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) of 1970 classifies cannabis as a Schedule I drug along with Heroin, Ecstasy, PCP, LSD, Psilocybin, Mescaline, and Peyote. Schedule I classification means that those substances have no defined medicinal purpose, have a lack of accepted safety under medical supervision, and have the highest potential for abuse. So, even though Cannabis ruderalis is about as harmless as you can get without becoming hemp, the federal government still lumps it in with much stronger drugs.

Cannabis Ruderalis Is Legal In Many States As of this writing, all 50 states have addressed the use of cannabis and cannabis-derived products (including Cannabis ruderalis). Here’s how it breaks down state by state. Legal Recreational And Medical Use Washington Oregon California Nevada Arizona Montana Colorado South Dakota Illinois Michigan Alaska Maine Vermont Massachusetts New Jersey Legal Medical Use Utah New Mexico North Dakota Minnesota Oklahoma Missouri Arkansas Louisiana Mississippi Florida Ohio West Virginia Virginia Pennsylvania New York Maryland Delaware Connecticut Rhode Island New Hampshire Hawaii

If the limit is below 3% THC, you’re golden and can partake of the Cannabis ruderalis with impunity. Cannabis Ruderalis Hybrids Are Perfect For Monster Cropping Weed plant

You’ll notice we didn’t say Cannabis ruderalis is perfect for monster cropping. It’s not.

First and foremost, it’s autoflowering.

Second, it doesn’t grow very tall and monster cropping works best on medium-height plants. Cannabis ruderalis hybrids — ruderalis mixed with an indica or sativa strain — however, are a different story entirely. If your hybrid fits the following characteristics, give monster cropping a try: Grows quickly and vigorously in the vegetative stage

Grows quickly and vigorously in the early part of the flowering stage

Grows lots of stems and bud sites

Grows to medium height Is not of the autoflowering variety Monster cropping is easy to do, doesn’t require a lot of plants to start, saves you money, and results in more flowers. An abundance of flowers, then, gives you more opportunities to toke with friends, to experiment with making your own cannabis products (e.g., hash, Thai sticks, cannabis coffee, cavi cones, and so much more), and to perfect your growing process so you can produce the best buds for recreational or medicinal use. Despite those benefits, monster cropping with Cannabis ruderalis hybrids is not without its drawbacks.

You’ll definitely need more space — one for the parent plant and one for the new plant(s) — and the ability to regulate conditions such as humidity, airflow, temperature, and light in each. Y

ou’ll also add two to three weeks to the grow cycle so that the plants can revegetate. If you’re in a terrible rush, you may want to buy your weed at a dispensary while the plants grow, or skip monster cropping altogether until you’ve got more time to spare. It’s also worth noting that not every cutting (clone) will grow.

No one knows why and it’s one of the great mysteries of the universe (right up there with a unified field theory). It’s just something you have to accept if you venture down the monster-cropping road.  When it comes to cannabinoid content, Cannabis ruderalis is close to the bottom of the barrel. C. ruderalis is very low in THC — so it won’t get you high — and, though it does have some CBD, you won’t feel the same quality of medicinal effects because the concentration is lower than high-CBD indicas and sativas.

Similarly, Cannabis ruderalis has very little value as a foodstuff or an industrial product.

Unlike hemp, ruderalis isn’t high in vitamins and minerals. And manufacturers can’t use it to produce chemical or textile products like shampoo, lotion, soap, plastic, paint, rope, or clothing.

The true value of Cannabis ruderalis lies in its abilities to autoflower and to grow quickly. For years, breeders have crossed common cannabis strains with C. ruderalis to improve growing time and flowering without decreasing cannabinoid content. So, while Cannabis ruderalis is pretty much just a weed, the fact that it will grow nearly anywhere — and do so quickly and without a lot of human interference — makes it a valuable member of the cannabis family.

Planting The Seeds of CDB . . .

An entire industry is being built around cannabidiol, or CBD,

one of the many chemical constituents of the cannabis plant.

A message from the Founder of “Inspirational Technologies

Inspirational Technologies – Steven Smith 2021                            In this Blog,                                             “Planting the Seeds of CBD . . .”,           we wish to Inspire those who are still waiting for the process of “Legitimizing the Claims of CBD” and “MOVE  the CHAINS” forward in the game of CBD. We have had patience, waited on government regulators and Pilot Hemp Programs to give framework to the farmers, cultivators and processing plants. Thank you for your participation, Steven M Smith, Owner/Founder, Inspirational Technologies.

Advocates of the compound say it confers all sorts of health benefits,

from mitigating the symptoms of depression and anxiety to treating Glaucoma,

It’s cropping up in protein powders, bath salts, makeup and even jelly beans.

But scientists are still unsure of exactly what the benefits — and pitfalls — of CBD are.

“Society has jumped way ahead of the science on this,” said Margaret Haney,

a professor of neurobiology at Columbia University Medical Center in New York.

Reported benefits have mostly been anecdotal, or they have come from studies involving animal models.

CBD isn’t well understood, nor have there been sufficient studies done in humans, she said.

Cannabis plants produce a group of chemical compounds called cannabinoids.

The best-known are tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC

(the so-called psychoactive component of the plant that’s associated with the marijuana “high”),

and CBD (a non-intoxicating component of the plant that doesn’t produce a high),

Hemp. Recently, Legal to grow and process for CDB.

Here’s what we do know: CBD can help treat some types of pediatric seizures.

Last year, the FDA approved GW Pharmaceuticals PLC’s Epidiolex for the treatment of seizures associated with two rare forms of epilepsy in patients two years of age and older.

But, to get to that point, GW Pharmaceuticals had to go through a long and rigorous drug-approval process to show the drug’s safety and efficacy through clinical trials.

This hasn’t been done with CBD for any other indication, until now.

While it’s true that CBD has shown promise in pre-clinical and animal trials in addressing a number of issues such as pain, anxiety, neuroinflammation and substance-use disorder,

there’s still not nearly enough peer-reviewed research available, said Ziva Cooper, research director of the Cannabis Research Initiative at the University of California, Los Angeles.

To truly determine the effects of CBD in humans, many further studies need to be done — studies with humans, she said. “Overall, we have very little real data on the therapeutic effects of cannabidiol,” she said.

As for those CBD-based skin products that are popping up on shelves and online, Columbia University’s Haney said she remains skeptical of their marketed benefits.

Many are diluted. It’s a question of both dosage and absorption, she said. “We have no idea how much CBD you would need to rub on your skin for it to have some kind of medical effect,” she said.

The amount of CBD in a lot of marketed products — even ones that are meant to be taken orally — is so small that we can not make any therapeutic measures for the person using it, said UCLA’s Cooper.

In the few studies that have involved humans, doses were in the hundreds of milligrams, but most CBD-infused products contain much less than that,

which the company says can be used as a daily supplement and help “promote a calm sense of well-being,” it also notes on its website that such statements “have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.”

CBD advocates were hoping laws around the compound might loosen up — or at least become clearer — after President Donald Trump signed the 2018 Farm Bill.

The bill legalized hemp, a variety of the cannabis plant that contains no more than 0.3% THC.

But regulation of CBD, whether derived from hemp or not, is still largely under the FDA’s jurisdiction.

Since CBD is technically an active ingredient in an FDA-approved drug,

companies are not allowed to add it to food or drinks sold across state lines or to sell it as a dietary supplement.

Companies are, however, allowed to put the compound into beauty and skin-care products, as cosmetics are not subject to premarket approval by the FDA.

That could explain why drugstore chains like CVS and Walgreens aren’t worried about introducing CBD-infused topical products in their stores.

“People shouldn’t confuse availability with legality,” said former FDA regulatory counsel Jonathan Havens.

The agency has cracked down on unfounded claims, but it has limited resources and can’t get to everyone, so it is focusing mostly on companies making blatant health claims about their products, Havens said.

The FDA recently sent warning letters to Advanced Spine and Pain LLC, Nutra Pure LLC and PotNetwork Holdings,

saying the companies violated federal law by advertising their CBD-containing products as potential treatments for ailments including cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis and more.

“The FDA wants to protect consumers. The last thing it wants is companies out there marketing CBD products and claiming health benefits without any clinical research to validate that,”

said Rob DiPisa, co-chair of the Cannabis Law Group at law firm Cole Schotz.

US FDA Fight to Regulate Cannabis (Hemp) More Research is Needed

At the same time, requiring anyone who wants to put a CBD-containing food or beverage on the market to go through the clinical-trial process would “chill the whole CBD market,” he said.

The FDA is aware of the public’s interest in CBD. Former FDA commissioner Scott Gottlieb put out a statement outlining steps to figure out a framework to lawfully market cannabis

and cannabis-derived products, including  public hearings and formed an internal working group to look into the issue.

DiPisa said he hopes the hearings last  May 2021 will provide more clarity for him and his clients.

“Everyone is running blind right now,” he said.
